A sparkling start to the New Year

The Club held their first run of 2012 on one of the most idyllic days of this wonderful winter. Toll charges in Portugal

I saw an article in The Olive Press a couple of weeks ago which indicated that the Portugese authorities were going to introduce a 77 euro toll charge for people entering from Spain across the bridge at Ayamonte.

I rang a friend of mine who lives just across the border who told me that this was nonsense. It has been reported that there is to be a toll system but it will not cover the bridge. just the A22 motorway. Also the charges will not be anything like as high as 77 euros. He says the maximum charge for driving from the Spanish border to the Atlantic coast will be somewhere around 12.

I am trying to get more information and will put it up on the Blog as soon as I get anything.

F1 practice at Jerez

I see that the Formula 1 practice sessions at Jerez are down to only 4 days this year – well technically next year I guess, 2012 anyway. They are from 7 to 10 Feb if anyone is interested. Perhaps we could get up a group from the club to go?
