Rosie is a Rover P4 110. 1962.
Engine: Straight 6, 2.6 litres.
Bought by me 6 years ago from the Wirral, UK. Had a good friend inspect it before purchase and he assured me it was in good fettle. Had a short holiday in mid Wales with Elo at my friend’s house and collected the Rover which he had driven down. Had a little work to get a new MOT and did about 800 miles touring and visiting family before embarking for return trip via Plymouth-Santander. Drove down in 2 days without any problems averaging almost 30 MPG. Overdrive helped keep the petrol consumption down. Once back in Estepona, work started on on the areas that needed work like the leather upholstery which was rejuvenated and fed. The woodwork was also removed, stripped and re-polished.
I then decided to change the colour from the rather faded pinkish beige to 2 tone gray, light on top and darker below the waistline.
This was done by me and a friend versed in these matters with acceptable results (for amateurs). A better front bumper was sourced in England, sent down and fitted. The original was painted with silver spray over peeling chrome; yuk!
The car is used now on most of the club runs and to date has never let me down.
Jobs to do:- Re-set the rear cart springs, source a pair of correct tyres for the front wheels, The present ones are rather low profile fitted for the UK MOT.
